Sweet Pea Birchgrove
The nursery was established in April 2013 and is run by an experienced management team alongside dedicated, qualified and knowledgeable staff.
In 2015 the nursery achieved “The Equality Count” accreditation. This award recognises settings that are dedicated to providing high quality childcare.
Our building is purpose built and has been designed to offer an open plan feel throughout with plenty of natural light. The nursery has off road parking and secure garden facilities
The nursery is registered with CIW (Care Inspectorate Wales) to care for 45 children aged 6 weeks to 5 years and is split into four separate area. Each area caters for children of a particular age group and has designated staff to work alongside them. Staff caring for children within each age group, have designated key children who they are responsible for supporting with the settling in process and documenting their development via frequent observations and regularly updated photographs that are accessible to parents via our communication app ' FAMLY'.
Due to being in a close proximity to Ton-Yr-Ywen Primary School we are able to offer a morning wrap around service to the onsite Nursery unit. This service provides parents with the reassurance that their children can still attend a mainstream nursery without the worry of it affecting their working life.
We offer the use of a safe and secure communication app which is accessible to parents/ carers throughout the nursery day. This offers great opportunity to check in and see how the little ones are getting on throughout their time with us at Sweet Pea.
Outdoor play area
We have a secure garden area which is surfaced with astroturf to offer a child friendly surface, while the garden perimeter is completely fenced-in. A covered sand pit for construction and digging is situated in the garden, along with an assortment of sand toys. We also have a water trough for children to play with along with an assortment of water toys and guttering for pouring and catching. We have a selection of bikes, trikes, outdoor games and resources. We have a painting easel and black boards that are accessible for the children to use when in the garden.
To promote continuous learning, toys and activities are brought outside where possible.
